There is a family here in Maricopa that owns a farm and they have been so generous as to open up a portion of their farmland to those who would like to plant their own mini-farm! This was such a great opportunity, so we signed right up and convinced the Williamson extended family to co-op with us. We are so excited - this should be fun, potentially hard work, and rewarding.Last Saturday, we went down to the plantation to plant the seeds - we planted tomatoes, red onions, yellow onions, summer squash, butternut squash, zucchini, watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers, and green onions. There is also a section being planted for community corn as well.
Grandma Williamson, Uncle Jeff, and Aunt Amy were there for support since Todd was out camping with the scouts.
